Unexplained happenings, locals fearful, what's the truth?

Known as the Bermuda Triangle of Romania, it's a place for fear.

Dracula's Castle is nothing compared to this place.

Want to travel to a destination you just might not return from, this could be the place.

The forest is named after a shepherd that disappeared while looking for a lost herd of sheep. Maybe that has something to do with the generally skin crawling creepiness of this place. The area gained notoriety when in 1968 several UFOs were spotted hovering above the forest. There are many stories regarding the strange area of the forest where the trees grow around a perfectly formed circle, yet nothing will grow inside that formation.

Trees are bent, growing in unexplained wavy and twisted formations.

A little girl disappeared in the forest only to emerge a year later, the same age, dressed the same, as though it had only been a few hours. She had no memory of what happened according to local lore.

Most locals won't set foot in the forest.

They don't like tourists to go either.

Rumors abound that the Hoia-Baciu is a portal to another dimension. That circle is a dangerous place, according to the locals of the area. Many have been hurt that step inside it. They hear and see things that defy explanation. Soil samples from the area cannot pinpoint any reason why not a single living plant will grow inside its boundary. It tops our list of spooky places we'd love to visit... but maybe not stay.
